A young woman from Gaza has died in Italy just two days after being flown there for treatment. The 20-year-old, Marah Abu Zuhri, traveled with her mother on a night flight to Pisa as part of a medical evacuation program run by the Italian government.

What Doctors Said
Doctors in Pisa said Abu Zuhri came in very weak. She had lost a dangerous amount of weight and muscle before arriving. Despite being given urgent treatment, her condition was too critical. She suffered a heart attack and could not be saved.
Why She Was in Italy
Italy has started a special program to bring patients from Gaza who cannot get the medical care they need at home. Abu Zuhri was one of those selected for treatment abroad. Sadly, her health had already declined so much that doctors could not reverse the damage.
