Have you ever seen an accident on the road?
Ever seen someone writhing in pain?
Ever looked into the eyes of a dying man gasping for breath?
Maybe you have…
But what do we do?
Help? Pray? Lend a hand?
No.
We pull out our phones, hit record, zoom in — and proudly say:
“Look! I was the first one there!”
O Human! Where is your shame?
Someone’s son, someone’s father, someone’s mother or sister lies soaked in blood, begging for help —
And you… are adjusting your camera angle?
Is this humanity — or a circus?
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“A Muslim is the one from whose hand and tongue others are safe.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
But today…
Our hands are glued to the record button.
Our tongues are silent.
Our hearts are dead.
And our sense of honor? Buried.
When will you wake up? When will you change?
What if you are the victim tomorrow?
And people just stand around, filming you instead of helping?
How would it feel?
It would tear you apart, wouldn’t it?
But sadly, we only understand when the pain knocks at our own door.
Wake up from your slumber of apathy!
This world is temporary.
Your videos, likes, views, followers — all will fade.
But the cries of that injured soul, the pain, that final breath —
Will stand before Allah as a witness:
“O Lord, he was here… but he chose to record me instead.”
For the sake of God — there’s still time
-
Learn to help
-
Call an ambulance
-
Hold a bleeding head in your lap
-
Whisper a prayer
-
Give courage
-
And if you must record — do it after help has arrived!
Conclusion:
Life is a test.
Saving a life, standing up for someone in need — this is what brings you closer to God.
Otherwise, that video may become your regret and punishment on the Day of Judgment.
Wake up. Change yourself. Inspire others.
Because there is no greater success than being truly human.
