3 tourists killed, 15 missing as floods inundate Babusar and Naran areas - Daily Times

Details of the Incident:

The disaster struck late Monday evening after an intense spell of rain led to a cloudburst along Babusar Road between Jal and Deosai. The sudden downpour caused massive landslides and flash flooding, damaging key road sections across a 7 to 8-kilometer area.

Multiple vehicles, mostly carrying tourists, were caught between flooded streams and collapsing slopes in the Lal Pari and Tatta Pani zones. Around 10 to 15 cars were reported stranded, with passengers waiting for help amid worsening conditions.

Due to the 15 major blockages along the route, all traffic was brought to a halt. Emergency teams faced difficulties reaching some areas due to debris and rising water levels.

The district administration confirmed the recovery of three bodies from the Chilas region. Meanwhile, one survivor with serious injuries was rushed to the DHQ Hospital for medical care.
